The Moh Foundation, in partnership with Choate Rosemary Hall, provided an opportunity for students to study abroad in China through a cultural immersion summer program. The Moh Foundation donated scholarships to students to participate in a 5-week program in Beijing, providing financial aid for their tuition, travel expenses, and cultural excursions.

A total of ten students and two faculty were also able to visit Xi’an during the program, connecting with the Rural Education Action Project (REAP) to learn about social issues prevalent in China, especially REAP’s work on vision care for rural children. Students were able to visit other non-governmental organizations working throughout China, and learned about the importance of the projects and initiatives that these NGOs undertake.

“Thank you for giving me the chance to experience China and its unique culture. Visiting China’s many landmarks has taught and shown me more about Chinese history than I could have learned in any classroom setting.”

“If it wasn’t for your help, I wouldn’t be able to add these wonderful experiences in China to my life. Thanks to you, coming to China has allowed me to get an even greater grasp on what I plan to do later in life. I know in the future I will definitely be coming back to China.”
